My ideal DVD collection

While some people are trying to upgrade their DVD collection to some high-definition media (ie, Gamal and his blu-ray fascination), I am still trying to obtain my ideal collection.

Personally, I am not a DVD “collector“—not only because I currently don’t have the economic means of being one but because I rarely come across a film I would want to see again. However, there are some films I feel are “must-haves”.

First, the ones I already have. Admittedly, not every DVD I have is what I myself would categorize as “must-have”. Here is the portion that I do hold highly:

  • American Beauty (No doubter)
  • Big Fish
  • Bourne Identity
  • Graden State
  • Old School
  • Signs
  • Snatch
  • The Last Castle
  • Unfaithful ;-)
  • Wedding Crashers

And now the ones that I want to eventually get when I actually have the cash:

  • 40 year-old virgin
  • Con Air
  • Dumb and Dumber (Funniest movie ever)
  • Face/Off
  • Frailty
  • Identity
  • Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (New favorite)
  • Little Miss Sunshine
  • Lucky Number Slevin
  • Sin City
  • Superbad
  • The Departed
  • The Professional
  • The Rock
  • Usual Suspects
  • V for Vendetta

Personally, I like movies that are different and are not just a played out hollywood plot. There’s probably a few that I am missing but that’s about it for now.
